How it all came to be
Hi, my name is Thijs and I am the founder of Travirts...
I grew up in the Netherlands and as a child I already dreamed of starting my own company, but I never knew what kind of company.
Eventually I found an answer to that question, and it was right in front of me all along. My father already had his own successful company before I was born. What he does? He sells clothing for wholesale. But when I found out that that's what I wanted to do too, I wanted to do it very different. Instead of buying clothing and selling it I wanted to create my own brand, and I wanted to save the Earth, and I wanted to sell it directly to you, the customer, and I wanted to sell everywhere on Earth, and I wanted it to be successful. Uuugh... so many wants. I felt lost before I started, but luckily I persisted.
Maybe you are where I was back then and you want to start your own company as well. Or maybe you are just curious. Either way, I wrote this page myself to make sure you understand how I started my own company. From nothing to all it is today. Maybe it might help you on your own journey :)

The start
It's hard to exactly point out when Travirts started. The idea for the company dates back to February 2021, but it took a while before Travirts had a name, branding and a business plan.
We see the first of June as the official start of the company. On this day the name was chosen, along with the branding.
July 2nd, 2021
The first design
On this day the very first design for a product was finished. It's the Great Barrier Reef Unisex T-shirt, which you still can buy here today .
The design is drawn by and in Adobe Illustrator by the founder of Travirts and it took him just under a month to finish (designing began on June 10th).
November 3rd, 2021
Website online
Up until this point, Travirts did not have a website. The website was in the making ever since the official start date, but it only existed as some code. On this day, that code became a true online website which people could visit. Unfortunately, visitors could not buy anything yet, as the products weren't produced yet.
December 17th, 2021
First order
On this day, a lovely lady from Portugal made the first order. Earlier she asked why everything is out of stock, this was because at this point, Travirts was not selling yet. After a brief explanation, she wanted to be a test customer. We gave her a discount and after some production time and 33 days of shipping, she finally got her package on January 24th 2022, which was a black Great Barrier Reef front printed hoodie. This order was anything but smooth sailing for us, so some work still needed to be done!
May 1st, 2022
Travirts launch
This is the day Travirts officially launched. From this day, advertising began and the word of Travirts came out.
